The Book of Ephesians is the marching orders to the church in the 21st century. The apostle Paul addresses the question of what the church is and how she was called by unmerited grace out of diverse backgrounds. That diversity is brought into unity by the calling of the gospel. Like several letters of Paul’s this one can be divided into doctrine and application. In the first three chapters we study the doctrine of sovereign election and grace (ch 2) and how that grace brings the whole church of God into one unified fellowship (ch 3). The second section is application of this reality (ch 4-6). The application of Ephesians is revealed through the Pauline imperative to “walk” and finally to “stand.”
We pray that you will be compelled by the doctrines of redemption and grace unmeasured and unmerited to walk worthy of the high calling of God as you study the book of Ephesians with us.
